The hair is long and falls in waves on the shoulders or is tucked under a traditional kerchief.
The maiden’s body is dressed in a traditional Kyustendil costume, typical of the Kalugertsi region.
The details of the clothing are carefully cut out: embroidery on the bosom, ornaments on the sleeves, embroidery with geometric motifs.
The apron is emphasized, often with lines and rich patterns.
There may be additional carved elements in the hair – flowers or folk ornaments.
The girl holds a bouquet of field flowers, which stand out against the background through a deeper or shallower engraved texture.
